Justice
Safety, fairness and the rule of law.
Our Vision
A justice system that protects the public, punishes wrongdoing and supports rehabilitation. Upgrade UK believes that law-abiding citizens must come first, that criminals should face real consequences, and that victims should be treated with dignity and respect at every stage.
The Challenge
Crime is rising in many communities, while confidence in policing and the courts is falling. Soft sentencing, delays in the justice system and a lack of police on the streets have left people feeling unsafe. Victims of crime are too often let down by a system that feels designed for the perpetrators.
Key Policies
- Recruit 30,000 new police officers with a focus on community policing and visible street presence
- Introduce mandatory minimum sentences for violent and repeat offenders to restore public confidence
- Create fast-track courts for domestic abuse, knife crime and burglary with a target of charge to trial in 12 months
- Establish a Victims' Commissioner with statutory powers to ensure victims are supported throughout the process
- Invest in rehabilitation programmes that reduce reoffending, including mental health support and job training in prisons
Why This Matters
When people feel safe in their homes and on their streets, everything improves — from business investment to children's wellbeing. Justice is not just about punishment. It is about building the kind of society where people trust the law, respect the rules, and know that those who break them will face real consequences.
